Frequently Asked Questions |
| |
Q. What is the Archer Range
Rangefinder? A. The Archer Range Rangefinder is a combination
rangefinder/pull-up rope designed specifically for any bow hunter using
a tree stand. |
| |
Q. How does the Archer Range work?
A. It works using simple mathematics of a right triangle. If
you know the height up to the bow hunter and the angle out to a target
you can know the distance to the target. The Archer Range utilizes
a 33' + tape measure as a pull-up rope to measure the height. A
pendulum measures the angle while, simultaneously, displaying the
distance. |
| |
Q. Do you have to do any
calculations? A. No. Once the height is known (using
the pull-up rope/tape measure). It is as easy as aim, press a
button, and read the distance. Very simple. |
| |
Q. How do I aim with it? A.
The Archer Range has "pistol" style sights on top. You simply line
up the top of the front blade with the top of the rear blades then aim
at the target. |
| |
Q. Can you use the Archer Range on
a hillside? A. Yes, there are several methods to use when
the target is uphill or downhill from the base of your tree.

Q. Does the Archer Range give the
Horizontal or Actual (line of sight) Distance to the target? A.
The Archer Range calculates the HORIZONTAL DISTANCE to the target just
like the latest lasers. |
| |
Q. Does the Archer Range require
batteries? A. No. |
| |
Q. Does the Archer Range use a
laser? A. No. |
| |
Q. Does the Archer Range use prisms
or mirrors? A. No. |
| |
Q. How long is the pull-up rope? A.
The Archer Range has a 33' pull-up rope. |
| |
Q. How does the belt loop clip attach?
A. The belt loop clip was designed so that it can be attached to
the Archer's rear most belt loop with one quick sliding motion using
only one hand. It is also balanced in such a manner as to not come
off accidentally. |
| |
Q. How durable is the Archer Range
rangefinder? A. Extremely durable. It has been tested
by being thrown from a height of 35' without any effect. |
| |
Q. What is the max range distance? A..
50 yards. |
| |
Q. What is the max ranging height? A.
35 feet. |
| |
Q. What is the pull-up rope made of? A.
It is a vinyl/fiberglass tape measure. It is an actual tape
measure. It is great for measuring anything, even horns! |
| |
Q. If I shoot one pin out to 30 yards, how
will it benefit me? A. You need to know where 30 yards is.
You don't have to guess at your maximum effective range. |
| |
Q. Why does an archer need a rangefinder?
A. Archery is a sport that is completely DISTANCE oriented.
If the distance is unknown, accuracy will falter. |
| |
Q. Is the rangefinder affected by water?
A. No, the device will function in wet conditions as long as there
are no obstructions to affect the swing of the pendulum. Even if
completely submerged, just shake out the water and hunt. |
| |
Q. Does brush interfere with the accuracy of
the rangefinder? A. No. |
| |
Q. Can spare parts be bought for the
rangefinder? A. Yes |
| |
Q. Will the Archer Range perform in
freezing temperatures? A. Yes |
| |
Q. What type of warranty is
included? A. 2 years - materials and workmanship |
